Since the launch of Campaign 4, fresh DM the talented storyteller has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a colorful mix of personalities, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and malevolent powers increasing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The third episode concluded with a dramatic pause and introduced the premier party of characters who will split off from the main group to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), Tyranny (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that maintaining everyone at a single group would be impossible.
This explains, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Strategists, and Explorers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the Dungeon Master, the combat-focused party is for participants who enjoy a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a intense first encounter with the antagonists.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the story’s plot—exploited The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could enable the team reach locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a unbreakable promise to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the setting for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- The strong figure and The healer defied House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- Teor is marked for death by House Halovar.
This results in them few options but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
Future Episodes
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the remaining eight cast members to form the Questers and Strategists groups.
Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on the upcoming Thursday.
